My Story

I am swimming the new target of 42k in open water - the sea, between October and February  to help raise funds for the 1 in 10 people who don't have clean water. This is something that's close to my heart, my father dedicated his career helping people in this way and I travelled the world with my family seeing first hand the difficulties faced through lack of clean water. I spent time in Pakistan ensuring farmers had the water facilities they needed to farm, live -  to survive.

On a personal note, as a nurse working during Covid - sea swimming has allowed me to remain calm and focused. Keeping my head clear and my heart strong.

Clean water, decent toilets and good hygiene should be a normal part of everyone's daily life. Without all three, people can't live dignified, healthy lives. With all three, they can unlock their potential, break free from poverty and change their lives for good.

With clean water, decent toilets and good hygiene, children are born healthier. They get the chance to go to school and grow up to become adults. Women and men get to earn a living. Whole communities start to thrive.

It sounds normal and it should be.
